Crew Juniors Coaching StaffFrank Speth
Since Speth's arrival at Ohio State in 1999, the Buckeyes have won at least 10 games in five of his six seasons and made all three of the program's NCAA tournament appearances. Speth came to Ohio State from his native Illinois, where he was Director of Coaching for the Illinois Youth Soccer Association from 1996-98. While there he oversaw the state's Olympic Development Program and coordinated the Coaching Education Program. From 1993 - 1995, Speth served as John Bluem's assistant at Fresno State. All three years saw the Bulldogs prosper, as they finished first in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference three-consecutive times and compiled a 43-13-6 (.694) overall record. In 1994, Speth helped guide Fresno State to a No. 3 national ranking and 10-consecutive wins, both school records. A native of Chicago, Speth played collegiate soccer at Illinois State from 1979-82 and was named All-Midwest Region as a senior. After he exhausted his eligibility, he played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) with Chicago and Memphis reserve teams and also in the American Indoor Soccer Association (AISA) with Kalamazoo and Milwaukee. |
